In the end of November, the Coffee Festival was started in St. Petersburg. The ticket price was cheap - 100 rubles or 2 dollars. About 700 people came to this festival. There were unforeseen problems with electricity, but no one left from this festival. There were excellent speakers. They told about:
- the story of coffee;
- how to cook it properly;
- varieties of coffee.
One of the organizers" goals for 2017 is to make this festival more ambitious. According to their plan, at the next festival should come no less than 2000 people.
My personal opinion
It was fantastic. I will recommend all my friends to come here. I hope that when I will be preparing coffee for relatives, coffee will be better.

В конце ноября, в Санкт-Петербурге прошел фестиваль кофе. Цена билета была низкой – 100 рублей или же 2 доллара. Около 700 человек пришло на этот фестиваль. Там были непредвиденные проблемы с электричеством, однако никто не покинул этот фестиваль. Там были великолепные ведущие. Они рассказывали о:
- об истории кофе;
- как готовить его идеально;
- сортах кофе.
Одна из целей организаторов на 2017 год – сделать фестиваль более масштабным. Согласно их плану, на следующий фестиваль должно прийти не меньше, чем 2000 человек.

The first burning of a small wooden man was performed in 1986 on one of San Francisco"s beaches by a group of friends. Now, once a year, thousands of people gather in Nevada’s Desert to create Black Rock City, a temporary metropolis dedicated to community, art and self-expression. The festival begins on the last Monday in August, at zero hours one minute. The last day is Labor Day, an official holiday, which is celebrated on the first Monday of September. Culmination takes place on Saturday after sunset, when people burn the huge wooden statue. For a week, fantastic-shaped works of modern art are installed in the desert. Some of them are burned by creators. All transport is banned, except bikes and mutant vehicles, which are creatively altered cars and trucks. Many participants wear costumes of animals, fictional characters and monsters. Artists give performances and DJs work day and night on several dance floors. However, each member is responsible for his life and cleaning of any traces of his stay. The war against the invaders for freedom and independence was called Great Patriotic War. The agressor was defeated but the cost of the victory was too high. Having a holiday is always great fun in many ways. First of all it is because of people have a day off, secondly it is the way of relaxion from everyday’s routine. In every country you can find public and religious holidays. What is about Russia?
The New Year is one of the public holidays. It is the favourite day for many people. Many preparations are made before it. You should buy a Christmas tree, decorate it. Mothers and wives are busy with cooking. There is much delicious food on the Russian table. People dress beautiful clothes. They greet the new year with champagne and listen to the Kremlin chimes beating 12 o’clock. And the next day everyone looks for a present under the Chrismas tree which has been left by Father Frost. What is more exciting is New Year holidays. They last from the 1st of January to the 5th.
Unlike Catholic Christmas, Orthodox Christmas comes a week after the new year. Different festivals of all kind take place in the streets. This holiday is surprising time. Heart is filled with miracle expectation… And this miracle occurs! «The Christ is born, glorify! » — Rushes over the Universe, — «the Christ from heavens, meet! ». Christmas can be called a family holiday. Everyone tries to spend it with relatives.
One of the most admirable holidays is Maslenitsa . People see off winter, and open themself for spring. It is celebrated during the last week before the Lent . During this time people visit their friends, bake pancakes. If we look back to the history we will find that each day has its own tradition. On Monday people meet the pancake week. On Tuesday there is folk tunes. On Wednesday the mother-in-law invite to pancakes her sons-in-law with wives. On Thursday people usually sledge . On Friday sons-in-law call the mother-in-law on entertainment. Saturday is usually taken as meetings with sisters-in-law. Sunday is called «day of pardon» . This day everyone try to see friends, relatives and acquaintances, exchanged kisses, bows and are sorry if they have offended acts or words.
One of the most popular holiday in Russia is t he 8th of March. This day men and sons bring flowers and presents for their wives, women, mothers, grandmothers. Women wait from men for signs of attention , colours and gifts. Almost everybody has day off.
The most important orthodox holiday is Christ’s Revival which is also called Easter. This day is familiar to everyone since childhood. Brightly painted eggs, tasty smelling Easter cakes full the atmosphere of this day. People prepare for celebrating this day beforehand. On Saturday believers bake Easter cakes, bear them in church with painted eggs for consecration . It is the symbolical value. The people go from Saturday to Sunday’s night in a temple on Easter divine service. After this people say «Christ Voskresi! ». and answer: «Truly Voskresi!
Victory Day is celebrated on May 9. This day the millions fallen in World War II are commemorated. Flowers are laid on wartime graves, veterans come out into the streets wearing their military orders and medals. I ndependence Day Russia celebrates on the 12th of June.

Pancake day is the day of meeting spring. There is a tradition when people run down the street with the pan in their hands and throw up the pancakes.
Easer is loved for the chocolate eggs and Easter Bunny. On the 17th of April the whole country celebrates St. Patrick’s day. There are many folk music festivals. Everyone in the country also loves Queen’s birthday. There is a parade where the soldiers marsh in beautiful colored uniforms.
Notting Hill Carnival is dedicated to afro-caribbean citizens of the county. Some districts of the city are full with people in colored clothes and the music plays till the late night.
Halloween is extremely popular in the country. The houses are decorated; children wear funny clothes, wonder from house to house playing trick-or-treat game, and receive sweets.
So, there are many holidays in Great Britain that are not similar to ours but nevertheless are very interesting and sometimes unusual.

Independence Day is a new holiday in our country. On the 12th of June, 1992, the first President of Russia was elected.
We also celebrate Day of the Defender of Motherland on the 23d of February, Easter, Day of Knowledge and lots of professional holidays which are not public holidays and banks, offices and schools do not close.

Первый праздник в году - Новый год. Люди встречают новый год в полночь 31 декабря. Они приветствуют новый год шампанским и слушают Кремлевские куранты в 12 часов.
Есть много новогодних традиций в России. В каждом доме сверкает елка разноцветными огнями и украшениями. Дети всегда ждут Деда Мороза, который приходит и дарит им подарки. Многие люди считают, что Новый год - это семейный праздник. Но молодежь предпочитает проводить новогодние вечеринки.
Возобновленный праздник в нашей стране - Рождество. Оно празднуется 7 января. Это религиозный праздник, и много людей идет на церковные службы в этот день.
8-го марта мы отмечаем Международный женский день, когда мужчины должны делать все по дому, готовить еду, и дарить женщинам цветы.
Самый большой национальный праздник в нашей стране - День Победы. 9 мая 1945 года, наша армия полностью разгромила немецких фашистов и закончилась Великая Отечественная война. Мы никогда не забудем наших дедов и бабушек, которые погибли, защищая нашу Родину. Мы чтим их память минутой молчания и возложением цветов к могиле Неизвестного солдата.
День независимости - новый праздник в нашей стране. 12 июня 1992 года был избран первый президент России.
